Anurag Thakur, the information and broadcasting minister, informed the Lok Sabha that the Center had spent ₹6,491.56 crore on advertisements in print and electronic media since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assumed office in 2014.
Over an eight-year period, the government spent 3,230.77 crores on print media while spending 3,260.79 crores on advertising in electronic media.
