M-TAXI is an on-demand app-based 2-Wheeler taxi hailing service that has raised an undisclosed amount of Angel funding led by Mandeep Singh and Jairaj Singh.

ISB Alumnus Arunabh Madhur launched M-TAXI in February 2015, with an aim to make last mile connectivity simpler for Indian commuters. The service has started in Gurgaon, from metro stations and plans to spread across NCR in the next phase.

“M-TAXI has a an advisory board comprising of entrepreneurs like Rudra Dalmia, Rajnish Kumar & Ritesh Srivastava, and is further scaling up by hiring enthusiastic and talented resources from across the industry,” said the company in a statement.

Passengers struggling to beat traffic or are in a hurry to reach, can either hail or book M-TAXI through its app and can track the rider through the app before hopping on. Payment can be online or with cash for the service.

The 2X& 4service is priced at a very economical rate of Rs 5 per KM with an initial charge of Rs 25. M-TAXI has also made the pricing mechanism more transparent with a recorded history and a share online option.

Passengers are assured of riding with a uniformed Pilot and are provided with a hair cap, helmet, and wet wipe for an optimal conveyance experience. We are excited to be the first in this segment, and hope to utilize our learnings for growth and success,” said CEO Arunabh.

Note: A similar app-based 2-wheeler service named Baxi Taxi launched in Gurgaon in November this year; they also secured $1.5 million in Seed funding from Ajay Trehan and Alok Mittal

  • Its just like Rapido, a bike sharing platform available in bangalore. I save 30 mins daily and its economical too. They provide helmets also.
