Now, ICICI Women Employees Can Log In To Work @Home For Up To One Year

For the women folks at ICICI, there is some great news to rejoice at. The bank has launched the all new women-friendly ‘iWork@home’ initiative, to allow its women employees, the option to work from home for up to a year.

Employees will be provided access to VPN and all their required tools and operating systems.

According to Chanda Kochhar, managing director and chief executive officer, ICICI Bank, there are many female employees who quit due to maternity, childcare or other reasons. With the new initiative, women will get a stronger support system, which will help them find a solid work life balance without any compromise.

She added that the work from home option can be extended for more than a year based on specific requirements.

The bank has also come up with a slew of other initiatves. The bank will now bear the costs for children and their caregivers when women managers have to travel out on business.

“Lack of support system due to predominance of nuclear families, inadequate infrastructure facilities like crèches and long commute time further accentuate the problem. To ensure that the women do not leave the workforce, there is a strong need for a robust support system, both at home and at work,” Kochhar said.
