Building further on its ‘Pocket Internet’ proposition Aircel has launched 3G services in India but at the cost of 2G. Known as 3G Aircel Pocket Internet Smart the services are available in the 13 circles Aircel has 3G licenses and will work effortlessly on 3G and 2G networks simultaneously with no usage restriction on any devices.
The offer starts at Rs 8 for unlimited data usage for a day for 50MB of data. Aircel expects that with this new plan more people in the country will be able to benefit from the power of internet at affordable prices and peace of mind from bill shock. up to 3.6Mbps speed. Priced at Rs 18 there is an unlimited usage of 3 days, with 100 MB data at 3.6Mbps speed. For unlimited monthly plans the user needs to shell out Rs 128, 198 and Rs 999 for 500, 1GB (data speeds up to 3.6 Mbps each) and 10 GB of data (7.2 Mbps) respectively. Thereafter once the designated amount of data is used speeds come down to 128 Kbps.
Considering the vastness of India, Aircel believes that the only way to reach internet to the masses in a cost effective way is through wireless networks. It expects to empower the youth and add on more people to its network with the affordable plan.

Though Airtel and Vodafone offer a similar plan with a marginal price difference, Aircel is a little different in its league and Idea Cellular provides more options. It is interesting to note that while all other providers have introduced new plans and prices for 3G on mobile, Reliance is the only operator which has launched new tariffs for its dongle users too!
