Aadhar driving financial Inclusion in rural India; Records 22 crore transactions in July

The Aadhar-enabled payment system is seeing a higher adoption in rural areas with 22 crore transactions valued at Rs. 9,685 crores recorded during last month. This system is helping financial inclusion in rural areas as it offers free basic banking transactions to customers at POS with the help of the Aadhar card.

Key services available under AePS are cash withdrawal, cash deposit, Aadhaar to Aadhaar funds transfer, balance inquiry, and gateway authentication service.

Retail payments for the government schemes falling under Direct Benefit Transfer are using AePS as a mode of payment.
