Exclusive: Kuliza Acquires Adepto, Social Media Marketing Platform [Updated]

Started as Trolly, Adepto company pivoted to launch Crowdnub, a social marketing platform. Interestingly, Blume also made a strategic investment in Kuliza (to fund the deal?).

Social Media Analytical tool, Adepto has been acquired by Kuliza.

Part of Microsoft Accelerator batch, Adepto was recently in a controversy over the news of Minjar acquiring them, which wasn’t really the case.

Started as Trolly, Adepto pivoted to launch Crowdnub, a social marketing platform. The company had raised $300K funding from Blume Ventures (and Rajiv Dadlani group) in 2009. Interestingly, Blume also made a strategic investment in Kuliza (to fund the deal?).

Update: Crowdnub will be rebranded as MobiChirp and is a pure-tech acquisition (and NOT a talent acquisition).

From Kiran (Adepto cofounder)’s blogpost

“I am happy to announce today that Kuliza Technologies has acquired Crowdnub, the social app tool that we lovingly hand crafted. It is now available for brand marketers as ‘MobiChirp’, as a part of Kuliza’s suite of social and mobile offerings.

As we studied the market and honed Crowdnub, we realized the landscape was changing fast and brands’ social marketing needs would be better served by a more holistic solution. So it made sense to align with Kuliza who was building the other pieces. We are happy Crowdnub has made Kuliza’s MobiChirp offering more robust.

It is a pure tech acquisition and not a talent acquisition..”
