How does RTB work?

A recent report (by Nexage) suggests that mobile advertisers are ready to pay 4X more for location based RTB mobile ads, though the constraint is from supply side (i.e. publishers need to enable ad inventory that leverages location information). As far as Adiquity is concerned, they claim to transacts 7+ Billion ads /month across 1200+ publishers, and 220+ countries from APAC, US, Europe and Africa.
