AI helps create new job opportunities in smaller towns of India

Though AI is expected to automate jobs resulting in layoffs, it is, as of now, creating a lot of jobs. Massive amount of manpower is required to build-up technology itself and train it with a lot of data.

As this data needs to be fed in manually, new job opportunities are created in countries like India, China, Nepal, the Philippines, East Africa, etc which offer cheap labour.

Mundane tasks like labeling images, annotating videos and translations, etc pay less but have been offering a constant flow of work.

The industry of labeling data is expected to reach $1.2 bn by 2023 from $500 million in 2018.
