Researchers have developed an AI-powered mobile application that can not only help identify between diseased and healthy Banana plants with the help of images but also offers treatment suggestions.
This application, built by International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), was fed in with over 20,000 images of leaves, roots, fruit diseases, and pests, etc. from different locations like Uganda, Colombia, Congo, and India.
The app can even read from low-resolution images and can detect symptoms from any part of the crop with a 90% accuracy. It is being tested in Tamil currently will be soon available in other Indian languages for free once tested fully.
