Telecom operator Aircel said that it will begin the deployment of 4G telephony in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. The company chose China’s ZTE Telecom to deploy the network.

In the initial phase of our rollout, we aim to offer our customers some of the highest data speeds in the country – in excess of 65 Mbps.
Telecom major Airtel was the first to launch 4G LTE (long term evolution) service in India. Airtel has 4G services in Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune and Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries is also planing to roll out 4G across the country. Reliance is the only operator that holds a pan India 4G license.
