The IPL madness has begun. Telecom service provider Aircel says its going to give extra talk time to subscribers everytime the Chennai Super Kings scores more than 164 runs. Whenever an Aircel customer recharges for a full talk time of Rs 164, Aircel will offer extra talk time whenever CSK scores above 164 runs.
For instance, in a match, if CSK scores 180 runs, the customers will get an extra talk time of Rs 16. The validity of this extra talk time is 15 days. Customers will also get 5 Aircel to Aircel minutes free (valid for 2 days).
The denomination of the extra talk time will be valid from first match to the next match and so forth and will change according to the runs scored by CSK in every match. In case of CSK scores less than or equal to the MRP, assured benefit of free talk time and 5 Local Aircel to Aircel minutes will be offered.
Of course this is a marketing tactic. It isn’t just he punters betting big on the game. Apparently, brands just love the sporting event and don’t mind spending big marketing bucks on it. Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel, says, “We aim to leverage the great following that cricket and IPL have in our country. Chennai Super Kings is the most successful team in IPL and this year their success will bring a cheer to Aircel customers as well”.
Aircel has always had a strong focus on in its association with CSK and recently launched various other consumer initiatives like Kaun Dega Man of the Match, Bloggers Hunt and CSK ringtones.
