Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has appointed Gopal Vittal as its new Chief Executive Officer in India. He suceeds Sanjay Kapoor who was CEO- India and South Asia and resigned earlier. Vittal, who reports to the company’s Chairman and Managing Director Sunil Mittal, will take on the new role From March.

Vittal is an IIM Kolkata alumnus and has over 20 years of experience in various companies.

The former SAP labs executive will setup and head the corporate strategy and business analytics team at Myntra, the company said. Prasad was the Senior Vice President of Technology and Innovation Platform at SAP Labs before joining Myntra. He also holds 8 patents in his name in the mobility and integration areas and a publication in IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) about large scale transnational software development.
