Airtel Payments Bank, which launched last week in Rajasthan, will be giving customers talktime equivalent to the money deposited in their new savings account on their Airtel number. Meaning if a customer deposits Rs 10,000, they will get 10,000 minutes of free talktime.
The talktime can be used to make calls all anywhere in India. However, this offer is only for deposits made in the bank for the first time. The company said that the validity of the talk time will be only for 30 days.
Airtel became the first payment bank to start operations, when it rolled out a pilot of its banking services in Rajasthan across 10,000 Airtel retail outlets, ahead of a full-scale pan-Indian launch.
