Akosha Secures $16mn in Series B Round Led By Sequoia Capital

Delhi-based customer service startup, Akosha has raised $16mn (INR 100 crores) in Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital. The funding will be used for expansion as well as hiring over 200 software engineers and product managers.
The company has grown its employee base from 180 to well over 300 and recently opened a technology and product office in Bangalore. Akosha will use the additional financing to continue to expand its software engineering teams, accelerate product development, and invest in growing its user base. Also, the company plans to add 400-500 people to its team this year.
Akosha provides B2C services with its messenger-type Android app for communicating with brands. The company also has a B2B help desk software platform called OneDirect with customers including Aircel, Snapdeal, Micromax and Makemytrip.
Earlier in March, Akosha’s competitor, Haptik in its blogpost accused Akosha of copying the design and even the content of its app.
