Amazon Expands Global Selling Programme to Include 12,000 Indian Sellers

The online e-commerce major announced that about 12,000 merchants from India are now selling their products under its global selling programme, in international markets, including in the US, the UK, Japan, Canada and France.

The programme, which was started in May last year, with just over 200 sellers, has now grown to about 12,000, and more sellers from the country, will be added in the coming months, the company said.

These merchants are reportedly preparing to be part of the estimated $5 billion Black Friday sales in November, which is a big festive shopping day in the US. Products like handicrafts, ethnic wear and jewellery are some of the products that will be the major draws for these sellers.
