Amazon To Launch Prime Service In India Next Month

The service in US is available for Rs. 6,700 annually but in India the price will be much lower

After completing three years, Amazon has announced to launch Amazon Prime in India, starting from next month.

The company said that it will offer 30 days of free trial of Prime service and the company will deliver within two days for free.

Amazon’s blog said that it found a mention of Amazon Prime in Amazon India website’s source code which read as, “Introducing Amazon Prime: FREE Guaranteed Two-Day Delivery. With Amazon Prime, you get fast delivery on lakhs of eligible items. No minimum order size. Start your 30-day free trial.”

The Prime service was launched in the US in 2005. The blogpost added that the service in US is available for $99 (Rs. 6,700) annually but in India the price will be much lower. Other details have not been disclosed.
