Social Media and Mobile App seems to be the new ‘wonder’ idea on the minds of politicians during elections. A lot of political parties are taking to social media to reach to young voters by campaigning on the social media. In the process, they have realized capability and reach of such digital modes of reaching out to people. AIADMK is not too far!
The IT wing of the All India All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), has developed an Android application “AIADMK LIVE” exclusively for campaigning during the State Assembly Election.
The app will display a registration form where the user fills in details such as user’s district, constituency, ward number, booth number, name, mobile number, WhatsApp mobile number, email address and their date of birth. Then, the user will receive information about welfare projects completed in their locality and the party’s achievements in the last five years.
The party also plans to facilitate the app as complaint forum for public and feedbacks after elections.
“The party has also appointed people to help others register on this app,” said R Sasikumar, AIADMK IT wing’s Coimbatore Suburban district secretary.
The app was launched earlier last week and has between 1000-5000 downloads so far with a rating of 4.6 out of 5. Mobile numbers of around 20 lakh people across the State have been registered.
