Android Co-Creator Andy Rubin’s Hardware Incubator Raises $48mn In Funding
Andy Rubin, the co-creator of Android, left Google after nine long years to setup a hardware incubator called Playground.
Playground has now raised $48 million in funding, with investors including Google, HP, China’s Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. and Redpoint Ventures.
Further, Rubin will also serve as a venture partner at Redpoint, which was confirmed by a tweet earlier today.
“@rsarver: Couldn’t be more excited for @ARubin to join @redpointvc http://t.co/6tpL9pUPVF” ;; I’m psyched too!!!
