Flipkart saw massive organic growth in the early days – largely driven by word of mouth (the first TV ad went live only in 2011). How do you drive such growth? Should early stage startups focus on Growth Hacking vs ATL marketing?

Before Flipkart, Ankit had started his own venture called Youthpad, the social network but it did not shake hands with success. Then, Ankit joined Flipkart in March 2010 and was entrusted with setting up the Media (music, movies and games CDs and DVDs) category. Later, he also launched the Electronics & Fashion category. In 2014, he scaled the marketplace business and on-boarded over 50,000 sellers.

In 2015, Ankit was promoted to Chief Business Officer at Flipkart.
