Apollo Hospital Partners with Groupon India [PR]

PR: Apollo Hospitals, the leader in healthcare in Asia, ties-up with Groupon India to leverage the web based platform for spreading awareness about their medical service offerings. In keeping with the expanding internet user base in India, Apollo Hospital, Bangalore will be launching Health Check programs for all age groups, through e-commerce major Groupon. Social media, the game changer in the country’s economy, is here to stay and imparts great power to consumers. This novel initiative by Apollo will help in increasing brand awareness and harness the collective buying power of customers.

The Health Check programs are designed by Apollo’s specialist doctors and then customized for separate age and genders. These programs will be offered, with a pre-specified validity period, at discounted prices (as compared to the hospital’s rack rate). They can be redeemed at all the Apollo owned clinics and Hospitals.

On the occasion, Mr. Ravindra Pai, Vice President – Marketing & Operations, Apollo Bangalore said, “Our vulnerability to lifestyle related diseases is constantly on the rise, due to various factors like stress, faulty habits and poor lifestyle choices. This makes it imperative for everyone today to opt for regular health check-ups to detect early warning signs of any life threatening diseases & switch to a healthy lifestyle. What better way to reach out to our customers than social media. This medium will assist us both in spreading awareness as well as delivering healthcare solutions to our customer’s doorstep, thereby providing them an impetus to take their health more seriously. We are excited about our initiative with Groupon India & plan to offer more services on this channel in the area of Cosmetic Surgery, in the near future.“

“We take pride in working hard to hand pick and promote great offers to our subscribers and members. The model of Groupon offers a unique win – win framework for businesses and consumers. Our association with Apollo Hospital Bangalore is a one of a kind in India & will open up the world of e-commerce to healthcare services, which was hitherto limited to fashion & food related products & services.” added, Mr. Mohan Rao, Managing Director  Groupon India.

Other modes of campaign like mobile & email marketing to the subscribers of such e-commerce portals’ services are bundled along with assured brand presence on the website. Social media acts as an enabler to both the user & the service provider by empowering the former to discover services/ products that they were earlier unaware of. The latter is benefitted by increased brand visibility.

This project by Apollo Hospital Bangalore is in addition to their recently launched cloud based online Personal Health Record (PHR) service – Apollo Prism. These initiatives underline the tech savvy outlook of the hospital giant & enable augmented reach to its customers.

Currently available only in Apollo Hospital Bangalore, the company will cascade this program to its other branches nationwide, based on the initial customer response.
