Apple losing India badly: iPhone shipments shrunk by 50%

Apple has shipped almost 50% lesser iPhones in India in 2018 as compared to 2017.

Hong Kong-based Counterpoint Technology Market Research projected Apple’s India shipments at 1.6-1.7 million in 2018, CyberMedia Research pegged them at roughly 2 million – both lower than 3.2 million in 2017 (source).

In 2018, more than 150 million phones were shipped in India and Apple still owns ~1-1.2% market share.

Time to drop the price and importantly, focus on improving its service centers?

Do you think India will ever buy into Apple’s costly products as opposed to cheaper Android devices in sub 40K range?
