Foxconn is planning to move iPhone, Amazon Echo production from China to India

Foxconn is mulling to move production of iPhone and Amazon Echo from China to India.

This is owing to the *Trump* trade war between China and US, though the reality is that India and Vietnam still do not offer a great alternative to China’s manufacturing scale.

If this happens, it will be a huge success to Make in India campaign.

Make in India now has over 268 mobile handset and accessories brands producing their goods in the country. Currently, over 95% of phones and accessories used in India are being manufactured locally and these factories employ over 6.7 lakh people

Note that Foxconn hasn’t yet decided – sometimes such ‘media coverage’ is part of a long-term negotiation plan.
