Apple has unveiled a range of new products, including an upgraded 4-inch iPhone called the iPhone SE, which will go on full sale starting early April. The starting price is likely to be Rs. 39,000.
The budget phone is the cheapest launch price for any new iPhone model and is said lead the company’s charge in its fastest-growing markets of India and China.
SE can be best described as iPhone 5S with 6S specs. The 4-inch display phone comes in two storage variants: 16GB and 64GB.
It features the iPhone 6s’ Apple A9 SoC and M9 motion coprocessor, 12-megapixel iSight (rear) camera with 4K video support, Bluetooth 4.2, improved Wi-Fi and LTE, new microphones, and Apple Pay support with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
Apple has also launched a smaller version of the iPad Pro tablet at its event at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino.
The new iPad Pro has a 9.7-inch display and will be available in India at Rs 49,900 for the 32 GB with (WiFi) model and Rs 61,900 for the 32GB (WiFi + Cellular) model.
At the same event, Apple also launched iOS 9.3. It includes Night Shift, which makes the screen warmer in colour at nights.
