Apple Restarts iPhone 4 Production for India, Brazil

Apple is planning to resume production of the iPhone 4, to battle Samsung with a cheaper phone in markets such as India, Indonesia and Brazil, a new report said.

Apple’s management in India has convinced the company to launch the phone at about Rs 20,000 to take on Samsung, the Economic Times reported.

Emerging markets like India, are seen as highly price sensitive and this move could help Apple regain the ground it has lost to Samsung. In 2012, Apple had tied up with specialized distributors to sell better in India, a market which is usually treated as a dumping ground for older devices.
