The Delhi High Court has ordered Apple not to use the name ‘SplitView’ in any of its products or services.
The legal tussle for the US tech giant commenced after software company Vyooh moved to court saying that it had developed a software Splitview in 2006 which allows users to simultaneously work on multiple windows on a single computer screen and Apple also recently launched an identical feature with the same name though with a different user interface.
Apple has appealed against the decision and will have to file its reply by May 9th.
A jury in the US had earlier ordered Apple to pay $626 million after finding that iMessage, FaceTime and other Apple software infringed on another company’s patents.
