Apple has software engineers and services employees working on a project to “allow alternative app stores” on the iPhone and iPad in reaction to impending laws in the European Union.
With these modifications, Apple will finally permit third-party App Stores on the iPhone. Apple will devote “a significant amount of resources to the companywide endeavour.”
