Hyderabad-based startup AppVirality Inc has raised an undisclosed amount in the seed round from Rajan Anandan and Mike Galgon.
Launched at UnPluggd, AppVirality graduated from Microsoft’s Accelerator program back in May 2014, and has built a toolkit for mobile app developers increase downloads and user engagement.
The USP of AppVirality’s service is that developers can implement custom in-app referrals without having to code, through its ‘Personalized In-App Referrals’ offering. The company plans to latch onto the growth in the mobile app space, catering especially to non-code savvy developers that are now making headway.
The raised funds will go towards hiring fresh talent and to further product development, with the launch of three additional growth techniques by the end of May 2015. The target users are growth or marketing teams who can log into a dashboard, select their preferred growth technique and implement it on the fly.
Other investors include Ravi Gururaj, Ashim Mehra (Baron Capital), Mohit Saxena (InMobi), India Internet Group, and TNN Capital. AppVirality is currently a 6 member team working out of the IIT campus in Hyderabad and has over 700 apps signed up to use its services.
