EAFT Technologies has partnered with the Art of Living Foundation to offer their members a one stop solution in carrying their information with them through the Enlighten range of tablets. In two phases EAFT has delivered 5000 units of the Enlighten tab to AOL.
A simple app loaded on the indigenously built tablet lets an AOL member watch videos of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s discourses, partake in a yoga session, meditate listening to AOL bhajans or perhaps read a transcript of the latest talk or AOL book. The content is also regularly updated via the AOL website.
The tablet comes with Android 4.0 (Ice-cream Sandwich), 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2160p video playback, etc besides 8 hours of continuous use battery life.
What’s the need, if you may ask? After all, this is just an app? So why is Art of Living selling hardware too?
Well, for AOL they no longer have a logistical nightmare with having to ship multiple CDs or books to various locations globally, and neither do they have to worry about security of their content, as the Enlighten tablets are equipped with DRM or Digitally Rights Managed content, which cannot be copied or downloaded.
