“At over 400 million underprivileged, our country has the highest number of poor in the world. India will continue to add 1 million to its workforce every month for the next 15 years, most of who come from impoverished backgrounds. Our growing economy with a massive skill-deficit provides real opportunity for them to escape the cycle of poverty through gainful employment.
There is a massive focus on imparting job skills across the government, corporates and social initiatives. However, livelihood skills alone are proving to be insufficient because most of these people hop from one job to another, lack work ethics and motivation, and hence stagnate in low paying menial jobs.” [Atul Satija]
