Amazon reported AWS Q2 revenue at $8.4B, a gain of $2.3B or 37%.
To put that into proper perspective, AWS’s quarterly gain was likely larger than the entire 2018 annual IaaS sales from Google, IBM, and Tencent cloud combined. Compared to Azure IaaS, based on my rough estimates, AWS revenue growth in dollars was likely 2-3X larger.
