Digital healthcare startups like Practo, Portea, will soon face a new competitor in the market. Baba Ramdev is set to start an online platform called chikitsalaya which will provide ayurvedic consultation and treatment.
Baba Ramdev also operates an ayurveda hospital and a medical college in his campus Patanjali Yogpeeth.
He currently runs FMCG platform Patanjali which claims to have around five crore internet searches every month. Among the Indian FMCG companies, Haridwar based Patanjali is strongly competing with Dabur in honey and Chawanprash, Amul in cow ghee and Emami in fairness cream and against HUL, ITC and Godrej, in the soap segment.
