Bangalore-based Tonbo Imaging Gets $100 M Contract to Provide Night Vision to Peruvian Army

Tonbo Imaging, the startup which specializes in developing night-vision equipment for the defense sector has bagged a $100-million contract to manufacture and export ‘night-vision sights’ for guns to be sold by a US company to the Peruvian army.

According to the company, around 10,000 of these weapons will be fitted with the company’s thermal imaging sight with a total order coming to $100 million over the next 10 years.

Started in 2008 by imaging technologies domain expert Arvind Lakshmikumar, Tonbo Imaging provides technology to countries such as Singapore, France, and Turkey. The company also partners with the Indian military.
