Battery maker Exide forays into electric vehicle segment with Exide Neo

Exide, better known for their lead-acid batteries, has announced the launch of a new e-rickshaw. The Exide Neo is already available in select markets and the company plans to ensure a pan India availability in a phased manner.

The ever-growing battery operated rickshaw market in India is yet to see the presence of a large organised player and Exide aims to answer this. It claims that the Neo will come with a rear-view camera, LCD instrumentation panel, and other high-quality materials to offer better security.

While the Neo is powered by a lead-acid battery, Exide is also exploring Li-ion battery powered rickshaws.
