In a bid to make public transport greener, Mumbai’s BEST has added 10 new electric buses to its fleet. These buses are a part of 40 AC and Non-AC buses which will be deployed under a Gross Cost Contract with Olectra-BYD.
The first set of 6 buses were inducted in BEST for a trial in 2017 under FAME-1 scheme. 40 more e-buses are planned to be added to BEST’s fleet soon.
Olectra-BYD’s electric buses are commercially operated in Himachal Pradesh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kerala, and Pune.
