On the App Store, the category which is the most popular is probably games. Photography apps come second and there are hundreds of apps which allow you to click, edit and share photos. More often than not, you would have to use a combination of apps to get your desired picture.
The app which is targeted as a standalone solution for anyone who is an avid iPhone photographer has a ton of features. Here are some of the highlights:
- Over 60 real-time shooting options
- Live filter effects on Photos
- Barcode and QR code scanner embedded
- Meme Maker
- Batch Import / Export
- Multiple Network Sharing to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Google+, and Instagram
- Search based on Location, Date, Tags, Title
The app loads up quickly. We tested it on a 4th generation iPod touch and faced absolutely no issues. Zitrr has a simple, fast, and intuitive interface. First time users won’t have to waste time figuring out the layout and functions. By default, Zitrr opens in the capture mode. The app allows one to apply filters after one clicks the picture and live. We love this option as one can see the final image right there and then.
There are over 30 effects which are split up over Filters, Effects, and Lenses categories. There is also a random option. Only one effect can be applied at a time. We wish we had the option to combine effects. There are a total of 6 grid options which would make anyone feel like a professional while clicking a snap. There are a total of 8 capture modes Normal, Timer, Burst, Big Button, Anti-Shake, Interval, Scan and Video. This will cover all situations and you won’t go seeking another app for this.
The gallery is feature rich and one can easily import pictures into the app in batch mode.
Like a lot of apps, the photo editor in Zitrr is powered by Aviary and one gets a toolbar where one can use various options such as Enhance, Effects, Frames, Stickers, Orientation, Crop, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, Draw, Text, Redeye, Whiten, Blemish, and Meme. All the tools work as advertised and are fast and easy to use. We actually found the learning curve the easiest in this app.
In these days of social networks, what is an app without integration of social network and Zitrr lets you share to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Flickr, YouTube, Tumblr, and Instagram all at one go. There is also an option to sync with Dropbox, and one can choose to do is if only connected to WiFi. If one adds a title and description to an image it becomes searchable in the gallery. We found this really helpful.
After using Zitrr for a couple of days, we are convinced that this could replace a number of other photography apps on our iPod touch. We pretty much found everything we were looking in a photography app in one place. While some other apps might offer better and more effects for most use case the number of effects provided should suffice.
Though the app cost $1.99, it is available at a 50% discount for this weekend only, and we recommend giving this app a shot. It will definitely get you deleting a few photo apps and that space can be used for something more important – the pictures themselves.
