Bharat 6G Alliance: India’s Planned Launch of 6G Network by 2030

  • The Indian Department of Telecommunications has formed a 15-member Bharat 6G alliance to facilitate 6G development and aims to claim 10% of 6G patents by 2030.
  • The alliance, led by TCS COO N Ganapathy Subramaniam, includes leaders from Vodafone Idea, C-DoT, Tejas Networks, Tech Mahindra, and Jio.
  • The government has committed Rs 240.5 crores from the Telecom Technology Development Fund for two 6G initiatives featuring a consortium of participating IITs and IIIT, Delhi.
