Bharti adds 2.12 million subscribers in June. Vodafone close second with 2.09 million additions in June.

India is the world’s fastest growing mobile market and new figures released by the Cellular Operators Association of India show that the growth is showing no sign of slowing down. Here are the major findings from the report.

The two major operators in India showed a health month on month growth rate with Bharti growing at 1.27% and totalling more than 169.1 million subscribers while Vodafone Essar grew at 1.50%, totalling more than 141.15 million subscribers.

Idea Cellular, India’s third largest mobile operator added 1.354 million subscribers in June, growing at 1.44% and now has 95.10 million subscribers.

Government owned BSNL managed to add just 0.84 million customers and grew at 0.96%.

Aircel, the last of the top 5 cellular operators added 0.91 million subscribers to reach a total figure of 57.98 million.
