BHIM App Users Can Now Send and Receive Money Using Their Aadhaar Number

Following the recent integration of BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app with UID, users can now send and receive money using their 12-digit Aadhaar number.
To use the feature, users need to navigate to the ‘Send’ option on the app -> tap the three dot menu > choose AADHAAR PAY as the payment option. After this, enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number, fill in the amount you want to send and hit Send. Currently, the government has 14 banks on-board to facilitate payments via Aadhaar Pay, with more to join soon.
Besides this, the newly launched UPI-based app will soon include a dedicated Aadhaar Pay service that will enable users to make payments using biometric authentication, without needing their mobile phones for verification codes. Payments through biometrics will be a big step towards digital payments, as payments will become simpler and will only require verifying biometrics, which are linked with Aadhaar.
