BJP has launched Blackberry app (link) that aims to provide live information on various sections. The app currently replicates BJP’s official site and offers 
following content:
– Videos
– Latest events
– Information about BJP & its history
– Ability to send feedback to the party
– Join the party by registering on a simple form
– Connect to BJP Facebook fan page
– Pictures, Speeches, Others etc.

Question for BJP
Apart from several other reasons, BJP’s confused Positioning/Messaging during last election costed them a lot. The political party spent a lot of money (online advertising/social media etc) going after a target segment which isn’t so impressionable as BJP thought they were (remember India shining campaign?). Launching blackberry app etc looks damn cool, but does that provide the right connect with the mass? Only time will tell.
