BlackBerry could face ban in India, Is Banned in Pakistan [For Foreign Missions]

The rift between Indian government and Blackberry continues.

The Indian government has refused to accept 11th-hour security concessions on access to users’ emails and messages.

India’s home affairs minister, Palaniappan Chidambaram, said today that the government still wanted access to BlackBerry users’ corporate emails, which RIM has consistently stated is technically impossible

It is to be noted that RIM has already given access to BlackBerry Messenger services for lawful interception by Indian security agencies, but not for enterprise email service (RIM even said that giving access to enterprise email is impossible).

And while India fights over the Blackberry issue, Pakistan has banned Blackberry services for foreign diplomats.
