BlackBerry Exits Smartphone Manufacturing Business, to Focus on Software

BlackBerry is finally quitting the smartphone business, an industry, it once dominated. The company announced that it will now focus on software and services, including porting its apps to run on Android.

The Canadian company which was known for its legendary QWERTY keyboard will now outsource the development and design of its smartphone to Indonesia’s BB Merah Putih to manufacture, distribute and promote its branded devices in that country.
