Blackberry phones will now have BBM Connected Apps

Research In Motion – Blackberry has lent an extended ear to their customers needs. The company has decided release a series of updates for its BlackBerry apps, making it easier for users to stay connected with their messenger community. Facebook, Twitter, BlackBerry Travel, BlackBerry App World and BBM Music will now include BBM connectivity, making it even easier for users to stay in touch with their contacts, share experiences and content, and discover new things from their BBM community.BlackBerry_Logo_Preferred_Black_R
With this in place, users will now be able to automatically share their Facebook status or Twitter update with their BBM friends from the apps automatically. Alec Saunders, vice president of developer relations at RIM, said one of every five apps being downloaded on BlackBerry App World is a BBM-connected app.

Waterloo, Ontario-based RIM has more than 70,000 apps in its App World store for either BlackBerry phones or the PlayBook tablet, compared with 200,000 iPad apps, and half a million for the iPhone.

And if you think Blackberry is only concentrating on the trendy young consumer you are wrong. It is also diligently working towards the enterprise segment. The company has launched the highly-anticipated BlackBerry Mobile Fusion, RIM’s next-generation mobile device management (MDM) solution for enterprise customers. The software consolidates the management of smartphones and tablets running BlackBerry OS as well as Android and iOS; and provides a single, unified, web-based console for easily managing all devices.
