BSNL and MTNL have failed yet again to pay salaries to 1.98 lakh employees for the month of July. The company assured that the payment would be made by August 5th.
Despite being in a tough financial situation, the company has been coming up with lucrative offers to gain more subscribers. One such is rolling out 4G services to Andhra Pradesh circle.
With players such as Reliance JIo, Vodafone and Airtel rolling out lucrative offers with low cost and more benefits, the financial woes of BSNL have magnified. This is not the first time BSNL has delayed payment of salaries to employees. The BSNL CMD, when contacted for the inquiry, said the funds are being arranged through internal accruals and the payments will be made by August 5th.
