BundleBaazi, a combination of two words Bundle and Baazi is an ecommerce site that helps you create a bundle by selecting two or more items in or across different product categories and different BundleBaazi stores, and get an exciting discount on the bundle.
The site has a good inventory across different categories – Baby store, Mom Store, Book Store and Electronics Store. You can create bundles across these categories and get discounts based on the total purchase.
“To BundleBaazi, create a bundle by selecting two or more items in or across different product categories and different BundleBaazi stores, and get an exciting discount – we call that BundleBaazi Discount – on the bundle. Play with the items in your cart to figure out a way to maximize the BundleBaazi discount. It is a puzzle for those smart shoppers to solve. There is a hint – the more items you add to your bundle, the greater the discount – to solve the puzzle of maximizing the BundleBaazi discount.” – mentions the team.
Started by IIT Kanpur graduates, BundleBaazi is actually quite a great attempt to model the real life store purchase (which are a function of volume + bundle discounts) and is surely an interesting concept to watch out for.
The key for the team however is to not build a game based bundle-and-find-discount model, but to build a recommendation engine that suggests price/bundles based on user’s behavior/history. Users do not have the patience to find bundles and experiment with them, but they do look for discounts – the team surely is onto a good concept, but building a recommendation engine is what will create a value in the long term.
Update: BundleBaazi does have recommended bundles too, but when in its current state of implementation (which is a bit buggy), the team needs to get the recommendation engine act together. It isn’t so obvious on the site.
