Bangalore based The Media Ant, a discovery platform for media advertisement space, has launched a totally revamped website along with some new features.
The startup, a marketplace for advertisers and media owners to buy and sell advertising space, aggregates advertising space on various platforms across the country.
At launch last year (at UnPluggd), the service had about 50 options available for advertisers and over the year this list has grown to more than 900 advertising spaces. One can find advertising space in cinemas, on the back of taxi cabs, auto rickshaws, bill boards, credit and debit card slips among others on the marketplace.
New Features Launched
Related media: When you’re browsing through any particular media option, you will notice related media being thrown at you. This helps through the discovery process. For example if you are looking for an ad space in a radio channel, the related media list will show DTH advertising, Cinema advertising, OOH screens and other similar option.
Map-based regional media: You can now browse through media options specific to a state or a city using their map-based feature. It really helps if you are looking for advertising options in a particular city or region, especially in the case of smaller businesses that only operate out of limited cities.
Non-traditional advertisment media seems to be catching on well in India, recently in June this year Airtel Digital television, the DTH arm of Bharti Airtel, launched the Freemium PPV, a new pay per view platform, for its customers. With this new launch customers will be able to watch popular hits and blockbusters at pre-scheduled timings on its platform for free, the only catch being that the movie will be displayed on 3/4 screen and the rest of the screen will be taken up by advertisers.
