Adobe has launched its digital store in India (link), enabling customers to buy products directly from the store (in INR). Using the online stores, you can re-download your products for 30 days from the date of purchase.
Important to note that you will not get the physical copy of the product (i.e. in DVD) and only the installer with key (which will be sent via email).
The store is managed by Digital River, which is Adobe’s approved e-commerce reseller and you can even pre-order products like Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium. The interesting part about the online store is the well laid-out pricing details – i.e. upgrade vs. full buy etc.
Update: In US, Adobe has launched ‘Creative Cloud’ With CS 6 for $50/month, i.e cloud based service.
Will this help curb piracy (given that Adobe products are among the most pirated products in India)?
