AirAsia

AirAsia was already working with Makemytrip from past six months for selling tickets on International routes.Notably, AirAsia has sales offices in seven Indian cities including Bangalore,New Delhi,Hyderabad and Chennai. Also as per a report by The Hindu dated July 10, AirAsia appointed Amisha Sethi as the COO for AirAsia India indicating its serious interest for the proposed airline venture.

However, there is still ambiguity on how AirAsia’s arrangement with Expedia will work out as the latter has exclusive rights for bookings with the former for Asia Pacific region. It means Expedia India also bags exclusive rights for selling tickets for AirAsia’s proposed Indian venture. In March 2011, Expedia and AirAsia launched the new venture for covering Asia Pacific region.

BeStylish : Cofounder, Shailen Amin Quits

Abhishek Lal is the new CEO of BeStylish, he replaced Shailen Amin who was also one of the Co-founders.

Though rumors were airing in the industry corridors for a while but now it is official as a report by Techcircle confirms the development. Both Shailen and Abhishek were the Co-founders in shoe e-tailing brand BeStylish.

Interestingly, Shailen’s linkedin profile still shows him as the “CEO” where Lal’s linkedin profile states him as the “Director-Merchandise”. These damn linkedin profiles!!

Launched in 2011, Bestylish is a venture of Smile group who also owns FashionandYou, DealandYou,Freecultr. Three months back Fashion&You closed Urban touch.

Interestingly a post by anonymous on Quora reveals a frustration of an unhappy user or of an unhappy employee. The post of this nature also hints that Shailen had quit BeStylish few months ago though the official statement came today.

Ecommerce in India
