Google will be introducing its new Chromebook in India starting October 17th. The launch comes with the introduction of two new Chromebooks from Acer and HP. Google has tied up with Indian e-commerce Flipkart for pre-order of Chromebook in India.

The Acer C720 Chromebook and the HP Chromebook 14 can be currently pre-ordered on Flipkart.

These machines will be running on the Google Chrome OS. Unlike other laptops/PC’s, the Chromebooks will run on apps which come pre-installed and also can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store. The devices will also work offline without an Internet connection, with apps that are offline-ready, like email, documents, music, photo, movies, games etc.

Both the Acer C720 Chromebook and the HP Chromebook 14 will come with 100GB of Google Drive storage to save your files.

Google has partnered with Tikona and Airtel to provide cellular and broadband offers for Chromebook customers.

The Acer C720 Chromebook   will retail for Rs 22,999 and the HP Chromebook 14  will retail for Rs 26,990. The devices will also be available from select Reliance Digital and Croma stores in Delhi and Mumbai from October 17.

Last month Chrome turned 5 and Google decided to bring Chrome apps to more places. The apps which previously could run only in the Chrome browser  has now spread to the desktop.
