And Now, Order Street Food Online on Tradus [Local Commerce Going Online]

This winter has been Delhi’s coldest in 10 years. The thought of eating chat all the way from the streets of Chandni Chowk albeit tempting, is completely impractical. Now imagine getting that one plate of chat delivered all the way to Dwarka by shopping online.

That’s right, the next leg of e-commerce in India is here, and shopping portal Tradus is whom you will have to thank for the service.

Tradus has facilitated online shopping and delivery of chats and street food for all its customers in Delhi.

From jalebis of the Old Famous Jalebi Wala store, to dahi bhalla from Natraj and samosas from Annpurna sweets, Tradus has currently offered the marketplace for the street food vendors of Chandni Chowk. Organised as part of their ‘Street Food Festival’, Tradus assures same-day delivery for all orders placed before 11 am.

It will be interesting to see how Tradus grapples with the delivery of hot, timely chat – the kind of dish that is usually best to eat as soon as it is prepared. But, if this ambitious project pulls through it could open doors for a whole new set of players to the e-commerce space and allow Indians to buy just about anything online.

Heck! Make us lazy. That’s what e-commerce is supposed to do to us.
