Caesars Entertainment Pays ‘Tens of Millions’ Following Hacker Threat

Caesars reportedly paid hackers, part of a group called Scattered Spider, to prevent them from releasing company data.
Hackers, some as young as 19, used social engineering to bypass network security, previously hitting MGM Resorts.
Scattered Spider, which targets telecom and business outsourcing sectors, impersonates IT personnel and exploits vulnerabilities in a company’s security software.
